About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and organized. The role includes cleaning restrooms and gas pumps, removing litter and trash, and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and company policies while helping wherever needed. The position requires weekend and holiday availability, frequent time on one's feet, and the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Applicants must be at least 18 and able to communicate effectively in English and perform basic arithmetic. Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required. Employment offers are contingent on a background check, and candidates may be required to complete pre-employment drug screening.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and staying on one's feet for most of a shift.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening if required and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, adaptable, and willing to perform varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when possible.
- Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
- Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
- Pick up litter and trash from floors and the lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and other store areas.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help the team wherever needed.
