About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and operating smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, handling regulated lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with legal age-verification requirements, and offering customers relevant products. Associates clean and maintain indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, entryways, windows, and the parking lot; remove trash in all weather; and stock shelves, coolers, and displays. The position also involves cross-training in other departments, including deli, and helping wherever needed. Candidates should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather and being on their feet for most of a shift.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and standing for most of a shift.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
- Must be friendly, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and adaptable.

- Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and other store areas.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support the team and help wherever needed.
