About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate welcomes customers, operates the register accurately and efficiently, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, organized, and well-stocked. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, windows, entryways, and other areas; removing litter and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather; and stocking shelves, coolers, and displays. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including the deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, comply with legal requirements for age-restricted sales, and help the team wherever needed. This position requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather and being on your feet for most of the shift. Candidates must be at least 18 and available to work weekends and holidays. The company describes both full-time and part-time schedules as available. Employment offers are contingent on a background check, and candidates may be required to complete pre-employment drug screening.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on their feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, personable demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
Flexible and adaptable to a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
Keep the interior and exterior of the store clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and the overall organization of the store.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Help the team and step in wherever needed.
