About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The position includes maintaining indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on their feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail.
Punctuality, trustworthiness, and responsibility.
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Previous retail or customer service experience; experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Keep the store and surrounding areas clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, removing litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and other store areas.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Assist the team wherever needed.
