About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate supports daily store operations by serving customers, operating the register, maintaining merchandise, and keeping the store and surrounding areas clean and safe. The role includes cleaning restrooms and gas pumps, removing litter and trash in all weather conditions, and maintaining interior areas such as floors, windows, and entryways. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to help where needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and standing for most of a shift.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail.
• Punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability.
• Adaptability and willingness to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
• Keep the store and its indoor and outdoor areas clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep and mop floors, clean windows, and maintain entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Assist teammates and take on tasks wherever needed.
