About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations by serving customers, operating the register, maintaining merchandise, and keeping the store and surrounding areas clean and safe. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and parking areas, as well as removing trash in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. The position requires working indoors and outdoors, being on your feet for most of the shift, and being available to work weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be prepared to work on their feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, responsibility, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
• Clean and maintain the store and surrounding areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
• Remove trash and take it to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Help the team wherever needed.
