About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers and helps keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and running smoothly. The role includes operating the register, selling age-restricted products in compliance with legal requirements, providing friendly service, and supporting sales. It also involves substantial cleaning and upkeep indoors and outdoors, stocking merchandise, and cross-training in other departments as needed. Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet and in varied weather conditions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Sell lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
• Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, and entryways.
• Pick up litter and trash in the store and lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support teammates and help wherever needed.
