About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers and helps keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and running smoothly. The role includes operating the register, selling age-restricted products in compliance with legal requirements, providing friendly service, and maintaining merchandise and store areas. Associates may work inside and outside in all weather, perform cleaning duties such as restroom and pump-area cleaning, and cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of a shift.
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, responsibility, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and removing litter and trash from the store and lot.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and overall organization.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Support teammates and assist wherever needed.
