About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations and customer service by operating the register, assisting customers, maintaining merchandise, and keeping indoor and outdoor areas clean and safe. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and parking areas, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. The position requires working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and being on your feet for most of the shift.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work on your feet for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Must demonstrate a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, reliability, responsibility, and flexibility.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
• Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe.
• Deep clean restrooms and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from floors and the lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Work collaboratively and help wherever needed.
