About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate is a customer-facing store role responsible for operating the register, providing friendly service, supporting sales, and keeping the store clean, safe, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning high-use restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and company policies while helping wherever needed. Candidates must be at least 18, available to work weekends and holidays, comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather, and prepared to spend most of their shift on their feet. The position requires effective English communication, basic math skills, and the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen and may be subject to a criminal history background check. Retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and standing for most of the shift.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be capable of frequently lifting 10 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Should be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team member and assist wherever needed.
