About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate is a customer-facing store team member who operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and are expected to assist the team wherever needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be prepared to remain on one's feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail in supporting the customer experience.
• Punctual, trustworthy, reliable, and responsible.
• Flexible and able to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
• Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
• Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from store floors and the lot area.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise full and presentable.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and other store areas.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Work as part of the team and help wherever needed.
