About The Position
Sales Associates keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, handling lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, offering customers additional products when appropriate, stocking merchandise, and maintaining clean indoor and outdoor areas. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. The position requires working on your feet for most of the shift and being comfortable indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work hard and remain on your feet for most of the shift.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Attention to detail.
- Punctuality, trustworthiness, and a responsible approach to work.
- Adaptability and willingness to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
- Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
- Pick up litter and trash from the floor and parking lot.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and other areas.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Work as part of the team and assist wherever needed.
