About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate is a customer-facing store team member who operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and welcoming. The role includes cleaning indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, and the parking lot, and working in all weather conditions. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to assist wherever needed. The position requires weekend and holiday availability and spending most of the shift on one's feet. Candidates must be at least 18, communicate effectively in English, and have basic math skills. They must be comfortable with frequent lifting of 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and must pass pre-employment screening, which may include a drug screen and criminal history background check. Retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and staying on one's feet for most of a shift.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
- Keep the store clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter and trash inside and outside.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help teammates and step in wherever needed.
