About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while serving customers. The role includes operating the register, providing friendly service, supporting sales, and following legal requirements for lottery, cigarette, and alcohol transactions. Associates maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, parking lot, and entryways; stock shelves, coolers, and displays; and cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed. Candidates should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and staying on their feet for most of the shift. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and standing for most of a shift.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, adaptable, and willing to perform a variety of tasks.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Keep the store’s interior and exterior clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise presentable and full.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain clean entryways and an organized store.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help team members and step in where needed.
