About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate provides customer service and operates the register while helping keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and inviting. The role includes selling lottery, cigarettes, and alcohol in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements; offering friendly service and upselling; cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, and entryways; picking up litter; and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather. Associates stock shelves, coolers, and displays, may cross-train in other departments such as deli, and follow safety procedures and company policies. Team members are expected to help wherever needed and to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Able to remain on feet for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and adaptable to a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Keep the store and surrounding areas clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support the team and assist wherever needed.
