About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate is a customer-facing role responsible for operating the register, providing friendly service, supporting sales, stocking merchandise, and keeping the store clean, safe, and inviting. The position includes extensive cleaning of restrooms, pumps, floors, entryways, and outdoor areas, including picking up litter and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to help wherever needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Able to work on one's feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, personable, and positive demeanor.
Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, and responsible.
Adaptable and willing to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, and entryways.
Pick up litter and trash from the store and parking lot, and take trash to the dumpster.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Support the team and assist wherever needed.
