About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate supports daily store operations by serving customers, operating the register, maintaining a clean and safe store, and keeping merchandise stocked and presentable. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and parking areas, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, company policies, and legal requirements for regulated sales. The position is suited to reliable, personable, detail-oriented team members who can work in a fast-paced retail environment, help customers, and take on a variety of tasks. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required. Candidates must be at least 18 and pass applicable pre-employment screening.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be prepared to stay on their feet for most of the shift.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, adaptable, and willing to perform a variety of tasks.

- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Keep the store clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms and sanitizing gas pumps.
- Pick up litter and trash from store floors and parking areas, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and organization.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Work collaboratively and help wherever needed.
