About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate greets customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, organized, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning high-use restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. The position requires working indoors and outdoors and being on your feet for most of the shift. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work on their feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
Must frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
Flexible and able to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor store areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as part of the team and assist wherever needed.
