About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, welcoming, safe, and operating smoothly while serving customers and handling register transactions. The role includes making sales, following age-verification and legal requirements for lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales, stocking merchandise, and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas. Team members may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to help wherever needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be prepared to work hard and stay on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Must be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
• Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe.
• Deep clean high-use restrooms.
• Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from the floor and parking lot.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support teammates and help wherever needed.
