About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The position involves cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, store areas, and the parking lot; taking out trash in all weather; and working indoors and outdoors. Team members may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work hard and stay on their feet for most of the shift.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, trustworthiness, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when possible.
- Keep the store clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support team members and help wherever needed.
