About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations by providing customer service, operating the register, selling age-restricted products in compliance with legal requirements, maintaining merchandise, and keeping the store and surrounding areas clean and safe. The role involves working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing for most of the shift, and taking on a variety of tasks, including cross-training in departments such as deli.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be able to stand for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, punctual, and adaptable.
Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Sell lottery, cigarettes, and alcohol while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when appropriate.
Clean and maintain the store interior and exterior, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and parking-lot areas.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Help teammates and take on tasks wherever needed.
