About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while serving customers. The role includes operating the register, selling lottery, cigarette, and alcohol products in compliance with legal requirements, offering friendly service, and supporting sales. Associates maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and parking areas; remove trash in all weather; and stock shelves, coolers, and displays. The position may also require cross-training in other departments, including deli, and helping wherever needed. The schedule may be full-time or part-time, and availability for weekends and holidays is required. Candidates must be at least 18, communicate effectively in English, have basic math skills, and be prepared to stand for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather. The role requires frequent lifting of 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work hard and stand for most of the shift.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, adaptable, and willing to perform varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Sell lottery, cigarette, and alcohol products while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and organization.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help the team wherever needed.
