About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas—including restrooms, gas pumps, parking lot, and entryways—and may involve cross-training in other departments, including the deli. Candidates should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and staying on their feet for most of their shift. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work hard and stay on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, trustworthiness, adaptability, and willingness to perform varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and upsell when possible.
• Clean and maintain store interiors and exteriors, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and lot areas.
• Pick up litter and trash and take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Assist the team wherever needed.
