About The Position

Sales Associates help keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, selling age-restricted products in compliance with legal requirements, maintaining merchandise, and completing substantial cleaning tasks inside and outside the store. Associates may be asked to cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail.
• Punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability.
• Adaptability and willingness to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
• Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
• Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and parking lot.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways to keep the store organized.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Help team members and step in where needed.
