About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations by serving customers, operating the register, maintaining merchandise, and keeping the store and surrounding areas clean and safe. The role includes deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, removing litter and trash, taking trash to the dumpster in all weather, and maintaining floors, windows, and entryways. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, company policies, and help the team wherever needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Should be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
• Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor store areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support team members and help wherever needed.
