About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes sales of lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, providing friendly service, and upselling when appropriate. Associates maintain both indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, parking-lot areas, and entryways. They may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to help wherever needed. The position requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and being on their feet for most of the shift. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, available to work weekends and holidays, and able to communicate effectively in English and perform basic math. They must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal-history background check may be required. Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on their feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, trustworthiness, flexibility, and willingness to perform varied tasks.

Responsibilities
