About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, handling regulated product sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, offering upsells, stocking merchandise, cleaning indoor and outdoor areas, and assisting other departments such as the deli when needed. Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet, indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and taking on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Able to remain on their feet for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and adaptable.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell customers when possible.
- Clean and maintain the safety of indoor and outdoor store areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, parking lot, and entryways.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Work as a team member and assist wherever needed.
