About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations by serving customers, operating the register, selling regulated products in compliance with legal requirements, stocking merchandise, and maintaining clean and safe indoor and outdoor areas. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including the deli, and help wherever needed in a fast-paced retail environment. Candidates should be dependable, friendly, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working on their feet and in indoor and outdoor conditions. Prior retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required. Employment offers are contingent on successful background screening; candidates may also be required to complete a pre-employment drug screen.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working on their feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
- Adaptable and willing to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Sell lottery, cigarette, and alcohol products while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Keep the store and surrounding areas clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and general store organization.
- Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support teammates and help where needed.
