About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate welcomes customers, operates the register accurately and efficiently, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning restrooms, store interiors, entryways, gas pumps, and parking areas; taking out trash in all weather; and maintaining merchandise displays. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, company policies, and applicable sales laws.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be prepared to stand for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
• Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail.
• Punctuality, trustworthiness, and a responsible approach to work.
• Adaptability and willingness to perform varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Sell lottery, cigarettes, and alcohol in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
• Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support the team and assist wherever needed.
