About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and operating smoothly while providing customer service and completing register transactions. The role includes maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas, stocking merchandise, following safety and company policies, and assisting other departments, including deli, as needed. Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet and in indoor and outdoor conditions in all kinds of weather.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Must be capable of frequently lifting 10 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Should be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
• Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
• Clean and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and parking lot.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Help teammates and step in wherever needed.
