About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers and helps keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and operating smoothly. The role includes cashiering, customer service, sales, stocking, cleaning, and supporting other departments as needed. Team members should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and staying on their feet for most of a shift. The position offers weekly pay, a flexible schedule, free soda or coffee while working, a 401(k), and opportunities for advancement. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, able to work weekends and holidays, and pass applicable pre-employment screening.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be prepared to stay on feet for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Must frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
- Flexible and able to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Keep the interior and exterior of the store clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and removing litter and trash.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and the overall organization of the store.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support the team and help wherever needed.
