About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning restrooms and gas pumps, removing litter and trash indoors and outdoors, stocking merchandise, and maintaining store areas in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and company policies while helping wherever needed. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, available to work weekends and holidays, and comfortable standing for most of a shift and working indoors and outdoors in all weather. The role requires effective English communication, basic math skills, and the ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates must pass pre-employment screening, including a drug screen and criminal history background check. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on one's feet for most of the shift and be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, responsible, and adaptable to varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise presentable and full.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and other organized store areas.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team member and assist wherever needed.
