About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, selling lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, and offering products to increase sales. Associates clean and maintain both indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, floors, windows, and the parking lot; handle trash in all weather; and stock shelves, coolers, and displays. The position may also involve cross-training in other departments, including deli, and helping wherever needed. Candidates should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather, standing for most of a shift, and performing frequent and occasional lifting. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Able to work on feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and adaptable.
- Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and overall store organization.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Work as a team member and help wherever needed.
