About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate welcomes customers, operates the register accurately and efficiently, supports sales through friendly service and upselling, and helps keep the store operating smoothly. The role includes learning lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales procedures and following age-verification and legal requirements. The associate maintains cleanliness and safety throughout the store and surrounding areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, parking lot, and entryways. Duties also include stocking merchandise, taking out trash in all weather, cross-training in other departments such as deli, following company policies, and assisting teammates as needed. The position requires working indoors and outdoors and spending most of the shift on one's feet.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Able to work on one's feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and adaptable.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Learn and handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when appropriate.
- Clean and maintain the store and surrounding areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, parking lot, and entryways.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help teammates and step in wherever needed.
