About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers and helps keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and running smoothly. The role includes operating the register, assisting customers with lottery, cigarette, and alcohol purchases while following age-verification and legal requirements, and offering friendly service and sales suggestions. Associates maintain merchandise displays and clean both indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot. They take trash to the dumpster in all weather, may cross-train in other departments such as deli, and follow safety procedures and company policies. The position requires working on one's feet for most of a shift, indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and being available on weekends and holidays. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Able to work on feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly and positive demeanor, attention to detail, reliability, responsibility, and adaptability.

- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Clean and maintain store interiors and exteriors, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and parking lot areas.
- Remove trash and litter and take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise presentable and full.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support team members and help where needed.
