About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, stocks merchandise, and maintains a clean, safe, and inviting store. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. This posting specifies a part-time third-shift schedule from 10 p.m. or 11 p.m. until 6 a.m., with a pay rate of $12.00 per hour. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays and be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
- Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, responsibility, and flexibility.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when possible.
- Clean and maintain the store interior and exterior, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and lot areas.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support teammates and assist wherever needed.
