About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations by serving customers, operating the register, maintaining merchandise, and keeping the store and its surrounding areas clean and safe. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. The position requires a friendly, reliable, detail-oriented team member who is comfortable working indoors and outdoors, staying on their feet for most of a shift, and performing a variety of tasks in a fast-paced retail environment. Prior retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be prepared to work on their feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
- Flexibility and readiness to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and parking areas.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help team members and step in wherever needed.
