About The Position

Cashiers/Hosts are front-line restaurant team members responsible for handling transactions, providing excellent customer service, assisting guests with orders, and ensuring a smooth checkout experience. They accurately process payments, manage cash registers, and respond to customer inquiries. They also greet and seat guests, helping create a positive first impression and supporting overall restaurant operations. The role takes place in a fast-paced restaurant environment and may require evening and weekend availability. It involves standing for long periods and occasionally lifting light to moderate items. Team members must be able to access online scheduling apps.

Requirements

Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide helpful information to guests.
Attention to detail when processing transactions, handling cash, and understanding table numbering.
Basic math skills for transactions and providing change.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Strong customer service orientation, interpersonal skills, and ability to handle guest inquiries and complaints effectively.
Ability to access online scheduling apps.
Ability to stand for long periods and occasionally lift light to moderate items.
Evening and weekend availability may be required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a cashier or restaurant role is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests warmly, engage in conversation, and maintain a cheerful demeanor.
Escort guests to tables and accommodate special seating requests whenever possible.
Accurately process cash, credit, and debit payments.
Greet guests, answer questions about menu items, and assist with order placement.
Process orders accurately, including special requests and modifications.
Keep the cashier area organized and clean, clean menus, and manage supplies and receipts.
Perform hourly checks and cleanings of restrooms.
Alert management when register supplies, such as receipt paper or bags, are running low.
Assist kitchen or front-of-house staff during busy periods as needed.
