About The Position

Golden Corral - Effingham/Springfield IL is seeking energetic, friendly individuals for a Cashier / Host position. The role is important to guests’ first and last impressions of the restaurant, and the employee’s interactions can influence whether guests return. The position provides guest service, including greeting guests, inviting them to return, assisting guests who need help, processing GC On the Go To-Go orders, answering phone calls courteously, and handling payments accurately. It also involves maintaining clean and organized areas, helping with buffet setup and labels, cleaning buffets, following local health department laws, and completing the duty roster to meet cleanliness, service, and quality standards. Operational duties include notifying the Manager when cash should be moved to the safe and ensuring the drawer balances with daily paperwork. The listed opening is with an independent Golden Corral franchisee. The franchisee receives applications and makes all hiring decisions; employment inquiries should be directed to the franchisee rather than Golden Corral Corporation.

Responsibilities

Greet guests as they enter and offer a sincere, personal invitation to return as they leave.
Assist guests who may need help.
Process GC On the Go To-Go orders.
Be friendly and courteous on the phone.
Handle payments accurately.
Know and follow position responsibilities related to just-in-time delivery.
Know the day’s buffet offerings and have full knowledge of the menu and prices.
Maintain organization and cleanliness at the vestibule, host/cashier station, and surrounding areas.
Help ensure the buffet is set up properly and labels are correct, as needed.
Clean all buffets and surrounding areas.
Follow local health department laws.
Perform the duty roster and ensure cleanliness, service, and quality standards are met.
Inform the Manager when money in the drawer needs to be taken to the safe to reduce robbery risk.
Ensure the drawer balances with daily paperwork.
