About The Position

The Caseworker in Treatment Foster Care is a pivotal member of the team, managing a caseload and providing essential clinical leadership and resources. In this role, the Caseworker is responsible for conducting clinical assessments, offering counseling, developing treatment plans, advocating for clients, and coordinating team training and case management. They also offer vital clinical consultation to treatment foster parents, reunification families, and educational teams, ensuring seamless communication between all stakeholders through written reports, consultations, and daily interactions.

Requirements

Minimum one (1) year of experience working with individuals who have complex needs, behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, or related issues.
Experience with clinical interventions and assessments for vulnerable populations.
Clinical Experience working with younger children (6-11 years) and families is mandatory.
Strong leadership skills that inspire, motivate, mentor, and support others.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Expertise in clinical and ethical issues related to the care and support of individuals with complex needs, behavioral issues, developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and/or other related issues.
Proficient in assessment, counseling, and service planning.

Nice To Haves

A Master’s degree in psychology, educational psychology, social work, or a related human service field is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree who are pursuing a Master’s degree and/or have relevant work experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Develop individualized and family-centered treatment plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
Provide clinical oversight and lead the implementation of treatment plans, including documentation and communication with stakeholders.
Conduct clinical assessments and refer participants for specialized services (psychological assessments, counselling, clinical resource needs, adjunct therapies, and psychiatric services) as needed.
Communicate with referral agencies and attend clinical appointments with participants when required.
Provide individual, group, and family counseling services.
Advocate on behalf of participants.
Lead planning conferences, family consultations, and meetings with healthcare professionals.
Participate in educational conferences and meetings with other stakeholders as needed.
Serve as a liaison between treatment foster families, education programs, and other stakeholders.
Influence the therapeutic environment of the family home by offering team training and education sessions.
Provide post-crisis support and direct clinical follow-up when appropriate.
Complete reports and document all casework clearly, accurately, and promptly.
Disseminate important information to families and referring agencies.
Provide on-call coverage during designated evenings and weekends.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Set the direction for the treatment program by integrating quality improvement initiatives and encouraging reflective practice.
Share specialized knowledge with the treatment team and provide professional consultation and training to support team members’ professional development.
Offer support and clinical consultation services as needed to the multidisciplinary team.
Manage and evaluate specialized therapies and clinical resources within an allocated budget.
Coordinate and collaborate with community resources as required.
Contribute to the operational budget planning related to treatment plans and services.
Provide input on budgets for special needs, events, or education sessions.
Promote and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
Adhere to agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions, whether written or verbal.
