About The Position

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, or designate, the Caseworker will be responsible for helping clients register and complete their applications to the Fine Option Program.

Requirements

  • Secondary education from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or Community Colleges or University Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or minimum 1 year of practical experience working with individuals impacted by socio-economic issues including homelessness, trauma, addiction, mental health, poverty, and the child welfare
  • Working knowledge and experience with individuals impacted by socio-economic issues, including: homelessness, trauma, addiction, mental health, poverty, and the child welfare system.
  • Working with a range of diverse clients, indiscriminate of: age, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, socio-economic status, religious preference, etc.
  • Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Requires flexibility and should be able to work varying shifts
  • Valid / Insurable Saskatchewan Driver’s License, insurable to drive clients in JHSS-owned vehicles.
  • Cleared Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, completed three (3) months prior to start date.

  • Demonstrate empathy for those impacted by the Criminal Justice System.
  • First Aid, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Food Safe would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Register all persons referred to the local office under the Fine Option Program.
  • Assist with the solicitation of new applicants and community partnerships.
  • Locate appropriate placement for program participants.
  • Monitor placement agencies to assure their suitability for the program, and client satisfaction.
  • Complete reporting and documentation as required by program and funder.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
