About The Position

As an Eagle County CFAS Caseworker, you'll be responsible for protecting children and youth from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to champion the safety, well-being, and permanency of children and families in Eagle County. As a Child and Family Caseworker, you'll play a vital role in supporting families by working with them to identify their strengths and address potential safety concerns, aiming to keep children safe and allow them to thrive within their communities. You will also build connections by collaborating with families, extended family, community partners, and various professionals to ensure comprehensive support. Additionally, you will empower individuals by engaging clients with compassion and cultural sensitivity, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree with a major in a human behavioral science field is required.
  • Two years of related professional experience.
  • Or the equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities required to meet qualifications.
  • Completion of all annually required training and professional development in order to uphold CDHS Caseworker certification.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license, a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in the human behavioral science field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments, document case notes, and report findings accurately and professionally.
  • Develop and implement plans to promote child safety and family stability.
  • Connect clients with essential services and resources.
  • Respond to after-hours safety concerns as part of a team.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of child welfare best practices and regulations.
  • Complete annual training provided by the Colorado Department of Human Services.
