About The Position

Hope For Youth's Residential Services provides 24/7, trauma-informed care to adolescents and young adults involved with the child welfare, juvenile justice, and runaway/homeless youth systems across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. As a Residential Caseworker in our Adolescent Diagnostic and Respite Services program, you'll help youth build strengths, maintain family and community connections, and move toward greater stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field
  • Valid NYS Driver's License (ability to safely operate a 7-passenger agency vehicle)
  • Strong writing and time management skills
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply!
  • 1+ year experience working with at-risk youth preferred
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules when needed
  • Ability to complete reports and logs, sit/stand for long periods, climb stairs, and drive regularly for work.

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining necessary documentation to prepare psychosocial assessments and final reviews
  • Preparing case updates and psychosocial assessments; home visits; parent and youth interviews
  • Supervising and documenting of family visits; progress notes
  • Preparing incident reports and notifications, as needed
  • Supporting the overall functioning of the program and residents from a trauma informed perspective
  • Perform other resulting and necessary work to meet the needs and requirements of the clients, the program, Hope For Youth, oversight agency and any other regulatory obligations
