About The Position

The Caseworker Coach III (Site Lead) provides day-to-day leadership and on-site oversight for Rachel’s Promise Center for Women & Children, a low-barrier, housing-focused shelter serving single adult women and women with children who are experiencing homelessness. The Site Lead ensures the program is clean, safe, welcoming, and adequately staffed; models trauma-informed, strengths-based engagement; and supports a consistent, resident-centered approach across shifts. In addition to coaching staff and supporting documentation quality, the Caseworker Coach III provides direct services to residents—including intake/orientation, safety planning and de-escalation support as needed, housing navigation, benefits linkage, and coordination with internal and community partners—to help women and families move toward stable housing and improved wellbeing. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or three or more years equivalent experience in homelessness case management/housing navigation and serving people experiencing homelessness and/or Substance Use Disorder/mental health populations is required.
  • Demonstrated trauma-informed practice.
  • Working knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change, Housing First, and harm reduction.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • English required; bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Passing a background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn database systems (e.g., HMIS).
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and teamwork/independent work skills.
  • Positive, growth-oriented mindset.
  • Willing and able to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing shelter services and/or case management to children and families experiencing homelessness preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general program oversight, consultation, and coaching for on-site employees.
  • Fosters a trauma-informed, safety-focused, family-centered culture within Rachel’s Promise Center for Women & Children, serving single adult women and women with children.
  • Facilitates bi-weekly case consultation meetings.
  • Keeps Senior Program Manager and Program Manager apprised of problems, complaints and/or concerns expressed by residents.
  • Welcomes and orients new residents (single adult women and women with children) to the facility; explains program services, routines, and behavioral expectations in a clear, respectful, and trauma-informed manner.
  • Meets with residents receiving case management to identify strengths and barriers contributing to homelessness (including health, safety, childcare, education, employment, and legal needs as applicable) within 48–72 hours of entry.
  • In collaboration with residents, develops housing-focused action plans and realistic goals achievable within 90–120 days.
  • Supports residents in accomplishing agreed-upon goals with emphasis on housing, income/benefits, childcare and school stability (when applicable), and skill development.
  • Provides diversion, problem-solving, and housing navigation services when appropriate.
  • Completes assessments and referrals for the Coordinated Entry System (CES) when applicable.
  • Assists residents with identifying employment resources and job opportunities when applicable.
  • Reviews each assigned resident’s file weekly to determine what is working well and where adjustments are needed to improve outcomes.
  • Assists residents in locating and maintaining housing, including communicating professionally with landlords/property managers and identifying appropriate rental opportunities for single adults and families.
  • Coordinates services with community partners based on residents’ individual needs and action plans.
  • When applicable, facilitates residents’ access to technology used to meet with internal CC and external service providers.
  • Develops and maintains up-to-date knowledge of countywide resources that address the needs of women and families experiencing homelessness and uses that knowledge to connect residents to appropriate services.
  • Participate in case management, training, conferences, and program monthly meetings as directed.
  • Works collaboratively with coworkers within Catholic Charities Homeless Programs and builds relationships with colleagues from partner agencies providing similar or complementary services.
  • Documents all contacts and services with residents in program files, Clarity HMIS, and CES (Coordinated Entry System), in accordance with agency and funder requirements.
