About The Position

Compass, LLC has an immediate opening for a Case Specialist to join our fast-paced lien resolution team. Candidates should have at least 6 months of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, health care claims processing, or experience in a similar field or with related course work. The Case Specialist is integral to our Compass lien resolution operation. This individual will prepare, send, process, and receive large volumes of correspondence exchanged with various agencies and law firms daily. The Case Specialist also will provide support to a team of managers, attorneys, case analysts, and/or team leads, assisting with auditing of healthcare claims itemization, initiation of new subrogation cases, written and verbal communication with law firms and agencies, as well as other tasks assigned by management or attorneys. A successful Case Specialist will expediently process documents, adhere to company deadlines and protocols, ensure proper prioritization of work, effectively communicate updates and issues to team management or attorneys, and maintain a “team player” attitude.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, health care claims processing, or experience in a similar field or with related course work.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with case management software and/or billing databases.
  • Analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred knowledge of healthcare claims processing, billing, ICD codes.
  • Experience with legal drafting a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and track lien progression via case management database.
  • Process incoming correspondence in accordance with established protocols.
  • Auditing medical claims itemizations and investigating discrepancies.
  • Drafting, organizing, and sending legal and medical claims correspondence.
  • Initiating new lien cases with appropriate lienholders/collectors under the direction of team management and attorneys.
  • Following up via phone, email, and fax on the status of pending requests.
  • Utilizing all provided resources and tools, including templates, checklists, training documentation, and task prioritization protocols.
  • Completion of special projects assigned by team management or attorneys.
