About The Position

The Case Picker is responsible for loading, unloading, moving, stocking, and staging products and materials using powered industrial equipment. This role requires maintaining equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion, performing daily equipment inspections, and operating all equipment safely and efficiently according to OSHA standards. Responsibilities include unloading inbound shipments, storing products, pulling and preparing products for shipment, and ensuring the accuracy and condition of inbound and outbound shipments. The role also involves maintaining inventory control and security through record-keeping, assisting with physical inventories, ensuring proper stock rotation, and following specific customer loading requirements for accuracy, stability, and safety. Additionally, the Case Picker will coordinate with other departments, maintain good housekeeping practices, promote safety, follow Good Manufacturing Practices, and observe all company safety rules. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment (e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial equipment.
  • Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
  • On a daily basis, inspect assigned equipment.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
  • Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded and shipped.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, or containers.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
  • Assist in physical inventories.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely.
  • Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Service, Transportation and Maintenance.
  • Perform good housekeeping practices, clean as you go process.
  • Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can’t be self-corrected to the leadership team.
  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
