About The Position

At Laura's House, we believe every survivor deserves safety, dignity, and compassionate support. We are seeking a dedicated and trauma-informed Case Manager / Advocate to join our Emergency Shelter team and help empower individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. In this role, you will provide comprehensive case management services, crisis intervention, advocacy, and community outreach to survivors residing in shelter or accessing services in the community. You will play a key role in connecting clients to resources, building partnerships with community agencies, and supporting survivors on their path toward healing, stability, and independence. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Sciences, or a related field - or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of case management, advocacy, or related experience preferred.
  • Domestic violence advocacy experience strongly valued.
  • Completion of a 40-hour Domestic Violence Training required (may be completed after hire).
  • Trauma-informed, compassionate, and client-centered approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Successful completion of Live Scan/background screening and drug test.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger handle or feel, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • This role requires strict confidentiality regarding all client, staff, volunteer, and agency information, with exceptions required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized case management plans that address clients' immediate and long-term needs, including: Housing, Safety planning, Financial stability, Medical care, Education and employment, Emotional wellness, Family support.
  • Conduct intake assessments by phone and in person for shelter residents and community-based clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed.
  • Facilitate support groups and client-centered programming.
  • Assist clients with transportation and referrals to community resources.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records and documentation.
  • Enter data and prepare reports to support agency and contract requirements.
  • On Call responsibilities (on a rotation basis).
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations and service providers.
  • Represent Laura's House at community meetings, outreach events, and networking opportunities.
  • Help raise awareness about domestic violence and available survivor services through outreach and education efforts.
  • Enforce shelter policies and procedures in a respectful and trauma-informed manner.
  • Support other shelter departments and programs as needed.
  • Supervise volunteers when assigned.
  • Participate in agency events, trainings, and team initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations.
