About The Position

In accordance with RNP’s Mission Statement, Philosophy of Client Care and Code of Ethics as stated in the Personnel Polices and under the supervision of the Department Director or Clinical Coordinator is responsible for admissions at Prospect House Shelter, as well as entering data into the HMIS, DDAP, and RNP data base. All duties are subject to accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Requirements

Incumbents may be required to secure professional certification and/or a license.
A valid Connecticut driver's license may be required.
Bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences and two (2) years’ experience in counseling preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Provide employee coverage for the duration of the entire shift and maintain the schedule as designated by the supervisor.
Provide counseling interventions for residents as needed during the shift.
Handle resident requests.
Complete intake assessments for new and returning admissions.
Follow agency and governmental requirements in maintaining accurate, objective resident files and daily log.
Provide coverage for our front desk area.
Uphold confidentiality regulations.
Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
Perform regular (hourly) rounds throughout the entire building.
Document any resident, building, or maintenance problems or concerns.
Attend and actively participate in the monthly per diem staff meeting.
Complete ongoing training in Relias or in person
Monitor medication
Perform various tasks which are requirements of specific shifts, e.g., assigning and overseeing chores, maintaining a laundry list, and room checks.
Knowledge of best practices in providing services for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders, such as client-centered care, motivational intervention, and trauma-informed care.
Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
