About The Position

The Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. The Case Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing case management generalists throughout the state. The main objective of this position is to coordinate facility case management generalists who are completing tasks such as case planning, small groups, PREA related checks and assessments, multi-disciplinary team engagement, and related activities. This position ensures compliance with established standards and best practices and engages with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to support staff functions. The incumbent will successfully relate to, and often interact with, other correctional professionals who facilitate offender change using security, work, programming, education, and spirituality. Must be highly skilled in acting as a liaison between outside agencies and internal stakeholders. Skilled in researching, formulating, and evaluating content. Skilled in analyzing and reconciling potentially conflicting data, operational practices, and staff input to formulate new opportunities. Works independent of direct supervision; maintains effective working relationships with administrative, professional, line staff and inmates. Supervision of 11 direct reports located at DOC facilities throughout the state currently located in Deer Lodge, Billings, Boulder and Miles City.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Paralegal Studies, or a related field
  • 5 years supervisory experience
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
