About The Position

The Case Erector Operator is responsible for operating multiple case erectors simultaneously and operating Pro Print equipment as needed. This role involves troubleshooting basic mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance such as filling glue pots, lubricating carriers, and cleaning machines. The operator ensures machines are functioning correctly, including proper setup, feed rate, glue placement, and adjustments. The position also requires accurate documentation, maintaining an organized work area, and assisting with repairs. Additionally, the operator may need to make boxes manually, stretch wrap pallets, and support team members with cross-training and coverage. Employees may be temporarily assigned other tasks while maintaining compliance with plant policies.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and simple formulas).
  • Ability to extend arms up to 36 inches to make machine adjustments.
  • Required lifting of 15 to 65 pounds.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, pull, and push cases.
  • Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, and perform repetitive motions for 8 hours a day or more.
  • Ability to go up and down stairs or step on and off platforms multiple times during the shift.
  • Ability to follow all safety guidelines and LOTO procedures.
  • Ability to effectively complete job-defined documentation accurately and neatly.
  • Must pass a math aptitude test.
  • Must pass the required strength physical examination.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (8 hours or more).
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift such as push/pull/lift.
  • Ability to bend continuously through the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work 6 consecutive days, overtime and weekends if necessary.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Operating multiple case erectors simultaneously.
  • Operating Pro Print equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshooting basic mechanical issues on assigned equipment.
  • Performing maintenance on assigned machines, including filling glue pots, lubricating carriers, cleaning carton dust, and aligning belts and print heads.
  • Ensuring machines operate properly, including correct setup, feed rate, glue placement, and platen or belt adjustment.
  • Accurately completing all required safety, production, and maintenance documentation.
  • Keeping the work area organized.
  • Assisting Maintenance and Case Erector Operators on repairs as necessary.
  • Making boxes manually when necessary.
  • Stretch wrapping pallets as needed.
  • Actively supporting other members of the work team, including assisting with cross-training, new-hire/buddy assignments, and process support during breaks and other staff coverage.
  • Complying with all plant policies during temporary assignments to other tasks.
